Thrifty Car Rental is pleased to announce that its fleet is now 100% non-smoking. This new policy will apply to all vehicles rented in U.S. agencies, as well as to participating franchisees.

Customers who do not comply with this new rule will be liable to pay a fine of up to $250. This fine will cover the special cleaning costs that will be necessary to remove any traces of tobacco residue and odours from the passenger compartment of the car. All cars will now have a “no smoking” sticker prominently displayed in the car.

“We hope that the rest of the area will follow us, so that travellers will always enjoy a non-smoking environment. We are confident that customers will appreciate this initiative,” said Scott Thompson, CEO of Thrifty.
